Cookie Policy

At EmPower Better Health, we believe in being clear and open about how we collect and use data related to you. In the spirit of transparency, this policy provides detailed information about how and when we use cookies. This Cookie Policy applies to any EmPower Better Health product or service that links to this policy or incorporates it by reference. In addition, this Cookie Policy is incorporated into, and subject to the terms and conditions of, the  EmPower Better Health Privacy Policy as if set forth therein.

What are cookies?
Cookies are unique identifiers that we transfer to your device to enable our systems to recognize your device and to improve your online experience. A cookie is a small text file containing a unique identification number that is transferred from a website to the hard drive of a user’s computer, often used to provide you with a customised experience. This unique number identifies the user’s web browser but not the user. A cookie will not provide personally identifiable information about users, such as their name and address. The use of cookies is now an industry standard and cookies are currently used on most major websites.

The Help feature on most browsers will tell you how to prevent your browser from accepting new cookies, how to have the browser notify you when you receive a new cookie, or how to disable cookies altogether.

Additionally, you can disable or delete similar data used by browser add-ons, such as flash cookies, by changing the add-on’s settings or visiting the website of its manufacturer. Because cookies allow you to take advantage of some of www.empowerbetterhealth.com.au’s essential features, we recommend that you leave them turned on.

To find out more about cookies, including how to see what cookies have been set and how to manage and delete them, visit www.allaboutcookies.org, or www.aboutcookies.org.

Does EmPower Better Health use cookies?
Yes. We use cookies and other technologies to ensure everyone who uses EmPower Better Health has the best possible experience. Cookies also help us keep your account safe. By continuing to visit or use our services, you are agreeing to the use of cookies and similar technologies for the purposes we describe in this policy.

When does EmPower Better Health place cookies?
We use cookies on our sites and mobile applications. Any browser visiting these sites will receive cookies from us.

What types of cookies does EmPower Better Health use?
We use two types: persistent cookies and session cookies. A persistent cookie helps us recognize you as an existing user, so it’s easier to return to EmPower Better Health or interact with our services without signing in again. After you sign in, a persistent cookie stays in your browser and will be read by EmPower Better Health when you return to one of our sites or a partner site that uses our services (for example, our sharing or job application buttons). Session cookies only last for as long as the session (usually the current visit to a website or a browser session).

What are cookies used for?
Cookies can be used to recognise you when you visit EmPower Better Health, remember your preferences, and give you a personalised experience that’s in line with your settings. Cookies also make your interactions with EmPower Better Health faster and more secure.

What is Do Not Track (DNT)?
DNT is a concept that has been promoted by regulatory agencies such as the U.S. Federal Trade Commission (FTC), for the Internet industry to develop and implement a mechanism for allowing

Internet users to control the tracking
of their online activities across websites by using browser settings. The World Wide Web Consortium (W3C) has been working with industry groups, Internet browsers, technology companies, and regulators to develop a DNT technology standard. While some progress has been made, it has been slow. No standard has been adopted to this date.

Can cookies be controlled?
Generally, yes. Most browsers allow you to control cookies through their settings preferences. If users prefer, they can reset their browser to notify them when they have received a cookie. They can also set their browser to refuse to accept cookies altogether. EmPower Better Health uses cookies. At no time is any personal information stored within any EmPower Better Health created or provided cookie. Most web browsers automatically accept cookies, but it is possible to change your browser setup so that it does not accept cookies. Accepting cookies through your browser is a personal choice. You can still enjoy the EmPower Better Health website if you choose not to accept cookies.

However, if you limit the ability of websites to set cookies, you may worsen your overall user experience, since it will no longer be personalised to you. It may also stop you from saving customised settings like login information.

What to do if you don’t want cookies to be set or want them to be removed?
If you do not want to receive cookies, you can change your browser settings on your computer or other device you’re using to access our services. If you use EmPower Better Health without changing your browser settings, or if you click the “Accept” button on our website page regarding cookies, we’ll assume that you’re happy to receive all cookies on the EmPower Better Health website and that you have provided consent by such actions or conduct.

Most browsers also provide functionality that lets you review and erase cookies, including EmPower Better Health cookies. Please note that the EmPower Better Health site will not work properly without cookies.

Mat and Lisa are amazing. Working with me pre and post surgery, developing exercise programs for me at the right level and with my goals in mind. I’ve felt supported the whole time - thanks so much!

I have been dealing with Achilles issues for around two years now and been to 3 different physios who had me doing similar exercises with not much progress, went and seen Nic in Dickson and in less than 2 weeks I’m close to being pain free. Highly recommend Nic he knows his stuff and explains things clearly

The team at EmPower Better Health have helped me from going to no exercise at all and dreading the thought of turning up to a gym to joining a regular, small class! Glad they have been able to help me along this journey to get my health and fitness on track!

I can't speak highly enough of Jon Beale after my Doctor recommended an Exercise Physiotherapist to help with a dodgy shoulder. Jon is super kind and caring and offers sensible solutions for me to try to manage the shoulder. I never feel judged and now have a solution which is improving my shoulder mobility and strength and I can now exercise safely and regularly. I recently met with Jon at the new Dickson premises and was super impressed with the facilities and staff were really warm and welcoming! Dickson is now my preferred location for consults!
